43rd Annual Medina Lake Cajun Festival
September 28
| Lakehills
Each year a slice of Cajun heaven is created in the Texas Hill Country. The Medina Lake Cajun Festival has been bringing the food, music and culture of Louisiana to the grounds of the Lakehills Community Center for 43 years. Two stages rock with Cajun and Zydeco bands from Louisiana, and visitors can savor authentically prepared Cajun food homemade by volunteers. The hub of the festival remains the Great Gumbo Cook-off, where contestants compete in categories of student, professional and amateur divisions. Visitors may sample the gumbos. An Arts and Crafts Fair and games for the kids round out the fun.
