Operation Round Up is supported by Big Country Electric Cooperative members whose monthly electric bills are rounded up to the next dollar. The rounded up amounts go into a fund for distribution within the counties we serve: Borden, Fisher, Garza, Haskell, Jones, Kent, Mitchell, Nolan, Scurry, Shackelford, Stone-wall and Throckmorton. Every penny stays in our local counties, benefiting folks right here at home.
In June the following organizations received Operation Round Up grants:
- Scurry County Ministerial Alliance, $2,500
- Senior Nutrition Activities Program, Sweetwater, $2,500
- Sweetwater House of Peace, $2,500
Any individual in need or local organization or program that serves a need in our communities can apply for an Operation Round Up grant. Grants can be applied for by those who assist with or are in need of food, shelter, clothing, health care or education assistance, or for other charitable purposes.
