45th Annual Heritage Association of San Marcos Home Tour
June 4
| San Marcos
The Heritage Association of San Marcos is excited to bring back the annual Heritage Home Tour and we hope you will mark your calendars to join this landmark event. We are excited to bring back this special event that our community cherishes so much. The year's theme is “See, Sip, and Savor: In the Historic Gardens of San Marcos.”
This year’s tour will feature the lush gardens of several historical homes. The tour will start at 220 N. Johnson Street, the Classical Revival home owned by Dr. & Mrs. Ted Dake. The second home is located at 227 N. Mitchell Street, the Greek Revival home of former Ambassador William H. Crook and Mrs. Crook. The third home is located at 903 Belvin Street, the Victorian house of Mr. & Mrs. Blake Stasney. It would not be a garden party without a mimosa to start, followed by the taste of savory charcuterie, confections, and music to enjoy while being surrounded by stunning florals and greenery.
We hope this will be a time for everyone to come together and take in the beautiful surroundings of our historical home gardens and enjoy some southern hospitality. In addition to the historical home garden tour, we will showcase two local San Marcos businesses that have beautifully enhanced their historical properties – preserving the rich history of our town. These local businesses include Zelicks Icehouse and Germer Insurance Services, located near historic downtown San Marcos. Presale tickets will be available through the association’s website at www.heritagesanmarcos.org. Presale tickets are $25 and day-of-tour tickets will be $30.
Chartered in 1975, HASM has worked persistently to support the preservation of buildings, historical sites, archives, as well as perpetuate traditions that beautify and enrich the charm of our community. It is through your continued support that we are able to carry out projects like the Cottage Kitchen Luncheons, Riverwalk Beautification Program, Heritage Arbor Day, and Tour of Homes.
All proceeds from the 2022 home tour will go toward renovation costs for the Charles S. Cock House Museum. We look to sponsors like you to help us continue our work and vision to preserve the treasures of San Marcos.
