Light Up Post
December 3
| Post
The city of Post has declared themselves as a West Texas Christmas Destination and welcome all to come visit our downtown beginning November 1. The downtown is decorated with colorful Christmas lights and unique Christmas scenes. West Main Street is lit with red, white and blue lights featuring Texas originals such as longhorn cattle, a giant walk-thru Texas flag tunnel, oil derricks and much more. East Main Street is decorated in traditional red and white candy land. The merchants in Post are ready for the holiday season and feature beautiful window displays and posted late night shopping.
Light Up Post is a special event and Christmas celebration that begins December 3 on Main Street in Post. This special day is full of shopping, lighted Christmas parades, and a Christmas Village. Merchants and vendors will begin at 10 a.m. with Sip-N-Shop featuring holiday gifts along the main street. They will stay open until 8 p.m. or until the last customer served. Plan on doing your Christmas shopping in Post, as we have many merchants both on and off the main street including a Christmas store with handmade Santa Claus. The Silent Night Village will open for Taste of Post and host food vendors, local favorites (beef jerky), crafts and Christmas candies. At 5:30 p.m. a lighted Christmas parade will line up with floats, area antique firetrucks and lighted vehicles. Santa and Mrs. Claus will make a special appearance at the Silent Night Village along with a pesky Grinch.
If you would like to enter a lighted float or vehicle, call the Post Area Chamber of Commerce at (806) 495-3461. For vendor information contact [email protected]. Please join us December 3 for this wonderful Christmas Celebration in beautiful downtown Post.
