Gem Capers is a gem and mineral show with over 30 vendors of jewelry, beads, gemstones, minerals, crystals, fossils and spheres. This year’s theme is "Diamond" in honor of our 75th club year, Diamond Jubilee, and it includes exhibits like the touch table of rocks and fossils, fluorescent minerals, and members’ collections. There's a silent auction Saturday and Sunday and demos in faceting, cabbing and wire wrapping. This year we are hosting the South Central Federation of Mineral Societies Annual Meeting.
Friday and Saturday 9.m.–6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Children ages 12 and under are free; ages 13–19, $2; adults, $8; military and seniors (60+), $7.
Friday is Youth Education Day. For $1 each: Gem Mine, Wheel of Fortune or jewelry making. Hourly door prizes Saturday and Sunday. Grand prize on Sunday.
