Like so much of 2020, the TVEC Charitable Foundation was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The biggest adjustment made by the foundation board was direct support for those affected by the pandemic’s economic effects, including more than $70,000 in grants for bill-payment assistance and $40,000 for area food assistance organizations.
“The pandemic had an impact on how many of our usual grant recipients had to operate, but the needs of people in our community are still there,” said TVEC director of Corporate Relations Bobbi Byford. “We are so grateful that so many of our members participate in Operation Round Up. In this crazy year, it has really be an opportunity to make a big impact. That small act of rounding up each bill adds up to something really big that we can all be proud of.”
