HILCO Electric Cooperative directors and employees have been overwhelmed by the generosity of members who have volunteered to have their bills rounded up to help their communities as part of Operation Round Up. The extra nickels, dimes and quarters are hardly missed individually, but together with other member contributions, they do so much good for organizations in our service area. Thank you, HILCO members, for your big hearts!
The Operation Round Up trust board met in October 2019 to review applications for the third quarter of the year. On October 31, six organizations were awarded a total of $11,073. The recipients included Karen Bush and Brandy Adkins from Church on the Hill in Hillsboro, Jim Jordan with Common Ground Ministries, Diane Frederickson with Isaiah’s Place, Sonny and Kay Sides with Waxahachie Little Pantry, and representatives from Lake Whitney Ministerial Alliance and Meals on Wheels of Johnson and Ellis counties.
