Big Country Electric Cooperative and affiliated organizations award thousands of dollars in scholarships each year to deserving local students. Three types of scholarships are available to Big Country EC families.
- Big Country EC Academic Scholarship: Two $4,000 scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors whose parents or guardians are members of Big Country EC. Apply by 5 p.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021.
- Directors Memorial Scholarship, Golden Spread Electric Cooperative: $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to selected recipients who are first-year college or university students and the child or spouse of a Big Country EC member. Apply by March 1, 2021.
- Texas Rural Electric Women’s Association Scholarship: Twenty TREWA scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to TREWA members and their children. If you are not currently a TREWA member, you may submit a membership application, membership fee and scholarship application at once. Applicant or applicant’s parent or guardian must also be a current member or an employee of a Texas electric cooperative such as Big Country EC. Scholarships will be awarded to graduating high school seniors, full-time college students and adults who have been accepted as a full-time student to attend any accredited college, university, junior college, community college, trade/technical school or business school. Apply by March 15, 2021.
