Enter to win two signed illustrated children’s books about Opal Lee’s life
Contest Ends June 30, 2026
Opal Lee and What It Means to Be Free, written by Alice Faye Duncan and illustrated by Keturah A. Bobo, inspires children to see their dreams blossom. And Juneteenth: A Children’s Story, written by Lee and illustrated by Peter Viska, tells the story of the historical moment when enslaved Texans learned of their freedom. Both books are signed by Lee.
Contest Rules
• You must be a member of a Texas electric cooperative to enter.
• The deadline for entries is June 30, 2026.
• No purchase necessary.
• Online entries only. One entry per person (duplicate entries will be disqualified).
• Entrants must be 18 years of age or older and a legal U.S. resident.
• Current employees of Texas Electric Cooperatives and their immediate families are not eligible.
• One winning entry will be drawn by July 6, 2026. We will notify the winner by July 13, 2026. If we cannot contact the winner by 5 p.m. on July 16, 2026, another entry will be drawn.
• Prizes are not transferable.
• The winner is solely responsible for any taxes incurred.
• The winner’s name and likeness may be used in promotional materials related to the contest.
• By entering the contest, contestants agree to the above rules and regulations.
