Since 1999, AAT spans Johnson & Ellis counties via Grandview, Cleburne, Maypearl, Alvarado, Venus, Keene and Waxahachie. There are many things to see and do scattered throughout these communities during this family-friendly event. This event happens on the 3rd Friday weekend every April & September. This year, AAT falls on Easter. Local activities include multiple yard sales scattered throughout neighborhoods, church & school fundraisers, food trucks, possible car or antique tractor displays (this year, Alvarado will host Johnson County Antique Tractor Club during the fall festival only) and musical entertainment. Many small retail businesses in downtown areas will host special sales and events. In the fields, shoppers will find antiques, art, collectibles, junk, jewelry, plants & flowers, garden statuary, home baked pies, breads, jams and jellies. We never know how each festival will come together but it is definitely a fun-filled treasure hunt! Sundays are much slower due to religious folks do not set-up to sell. You can't see everything in a day, better book the whole weekend! Bonus! Looking for a deal? Bonus! On Sundays, many dealers don't want on to pack it up, so they cut good deals to shoppers.
