Focus on Texas: Prom Night

Time to get all dressed up for that special evening with … Zeus?

Hair and makeup? Check. Heels and formals? Check. Dressing up or down, arriving by limo or tractor, Texans love a high school prom. It’s a rite of passage and a celebration of youth; it’s time to get a little crazy and cut loose.

Lois Jackson, Cherokee County EC: “When brothers Tate and Cade Duncan headed to the prom, they decided to go in true redneck style!”

Bonni Wilson, Wise EC: Prada pre-prom in Valentine

Carolyn Schlinke, Karnes EC: “My granddaughter, Caryn Smart, 17, took her favorite show bull, Zeus, to the Runge High School prom so she could take pictures with him.”

Susan O’Brien, Lyntegar EC: “My granddaughter, Jayli, and her date, Corbin, posing before the 2017 Spearman prom are surprisingly joined by Jayli’s little sister, Brooklyn.”

Web Extra: Judy Madden, Pedernales EC: “My high school prom was in 1964. I married my prom date in 1967, and we have been married 50 years. He’s still the same handsome man he was 50 years ago.”

Web Extra: Laura Jelemensky, Pedernales EC: “My daughter’s senior prom back in 1989 was memorable because it coincided with a torrential rain and hailstorm in Austin. Although they had to swaddle themselves in rain gear and carry their shoes, my daughter and her date didn’t let the storm put a damper on the evening.”:

Web Extra: Bruce Chase, United Cooperative Services: Two-year-old dancers, Hunter Olson (grandson) and Caylin Gecy, prepare for a future prom by dancing the night away at a wedding reception.

Web Extra: Jean Kroum, Medina EC: “My granddaughter, Madison, and boyfriend, Zach, thought this wheat field made a great backdrop for prom pictures.”

Web Extra: Lori Glass, Comanche EC: A quiet moment with Kaitlyn Glass and her father before the prom in Priddy

Web Extra: Kim Luensmann, Guadalupe Valley EC: Cameron and Cheyenne make a quick stop at the baseball field before the Marion prom.

Web Extra: Amanda Prevost, Farmers EC: “I took this photo of my bonus daughter and her boyfriend for their prom.”

Web Extra: Linda Blezinger, Farmers EC: Girls just wanna have fun, but there’s no need for your feet to hurt! Kasey Blezinger has her own sense of style and glam.
