Partner Spotlight: Community Assistance Center

Nonprofit helps local residents during times of need

The Community Assistance Center, located in Montgomery County, embodies Concern for Community, one of the core principles that guides all cooperatives. Since 1981, the nonprofit organization has been helping individuals and families during times of financial instability.

Through the center, Montgomery County residents in need can apply for assistance with necessities like food, clothing, housing and utilities. Applicants can schedule appointments to meet with a CAC case manager to discuss their needs and determine a course of action to help them get back on their feet. The local nonprofit provided more than 25,000 services to the community last year.

Ways To Get Involved

  • Make a financial donation—$50 will clothe a neighbor in need.
  • Supply requested items—In-kind donations make an immediate impact.
  • Host a collection drive—Enlist others to collect needed items at your church or workplace.
  • Volunteer—Give the gift of your time in the center’s food pantry, resale store or administrative offices.

CAC relies on local partnerships and support to improve the lives of neighbors in need. For more information about CAC, services available to MidSouth Electric Cooperative members and ways to get involved, visit cac-mctx.org.
