Focus on Texas: Naptime

Taking snapshots of somebody sleeping seems rather devious, but the photos are rarely met with a yawn

Bryan Texas Utilities’ Staci Jessen said her laboratory’s cat, Angi, fell asleep while chasing the mouse on Jessen’s computer screen.

Wood County EC’s Ray and Corie Wyrick drove all night to meet their fourth grandchild, Kaleb, in Kansas. ‘Poppy was one tired grandpa!’ says Corie.

Jo Wright-Chapman, South Plains EC, said her son, Tyler Wright (now 30), fell asleep while helping his dad in the shop when he was 4.

‘When our cat Kimbo is not chasing birds or rats, she likes to take cat naps on our porch,’ says Tracy Farr, Bowie-Cass EC.

‘We had just walked about 5 miles, went back to the motorhome, and that’s the position Bosley was in for a few hours,’ says Bridget Wiemken, Heart of Texas EC.

After a long, hard day of playing, it’s naptime for Tyler Moore, grandson of Earl and Roxanne Moore, Guadalupe Valley EC.

Christopher Moehlmann, grandson of Marjorie and Randy West, Sam Houston EC, fell asleep on the four-wheeler after a day of fishing with Papa. His parents, Christopher Moehlmann and Natosha Maddox-West, also are members of SHECO.

Helen Havelka, Bartlett EC, says little Angel found the perfect place to nap.

Carol Mathews, Hamilton County EC, sent in this cute photo of a kid taking a break in the warm sunshine.

After Liana Karamzins, CoServ Electric, and her family took a trip to Galveston Island, her youngest son, Justin, fell asleep with his Thomas the Tank Engine, and she quickly took a photo. ‘Boys grow up so fast, and keeping these memories on the film is precious to all of us,’ she says.

This golden retriever pup wore herself out playing and plopped on the floor, says Tracey Carter, Bowie-Cass EC.
