Did you know that several hundred million Americans are members of more than 40,000 U.S. cooperatives? Globally, the world’s 300 largest co-ops generate $2.5 trillion in revenue. And because they are not-for-profit enterprises, most of that money goes back into the businesses–and to their members.
CoServ is just one type of co-op–an electric utility established by farmers in 1937 as Denton County Electric Cooperative to serve their neighbors. More than 70 electric co-ops serve over 3 million Texans; across the country, more than 900 electric co-ops serve more than 40 million Americans.
Today, CoServ remains committed to its Members and Customers. And not just to power homes and businesses–but also to empower communities we serve through schools, nonprofit organizations and support for other co-ops.
