Scott Martin was recently recognized for his accomplishments.
Martin of Spur, became the first SPEC Board Member to complete the Director Gold program through the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association. This program is geared towards directors who are committed to continuing their education. Martin has previously completed the Credentialed Cooperative Director and the Board Leadership Certificate programs.
The CCD prepares directors to fulfill their fiduciary duty as elected officials serving on behalf of the Co-op membership. The BLC consists of a series of courses focusing in greater depth on specific industry and governance issues.
Director Gold is an example of the board members ongoing commitment to advancing their knowledge and performing their fiduciary duties.
The Cooperative Board of Directors complete these certificate programs to stay up-to-date on key issues and trends in the electric industry and prepare them to better serve the SPEC membership, now and in the future.
