New Recipes and Old Favorites

It is rare that I don’t remove a page or get ideas from the recipes [TCP Kitchen, September 2026]. The Sweet Potato Waffles are on my to-make list.

Barbara Macha, CoServ | Highland Village

As young’uns growing up in small-town Mabank in the 1950s, my mother made Peanut Butter, Crackers and Marshmallows [TCP Kitchen, August 2026] for her four young boys. My wife and I made them for our children. As grandparents of now-grown grandchildren, we made them but had to give them a special name—Pawpaw’s Favorite Treats.

Dining Defined

It’s About Time [August 2026] is tops. A very informative, dawn-to-dark account.

It is common today in Texas to refer to the evening meal as dinner. But just like in Andy Adams’ book The Log of a Cowboy, the Panhandle cowboys and farmers I know all call it supper. They call the noon meal dinner.

Most Inspired

Thank you for Giant Footsteps [June 2026], the wonderful article on Miss Opal Lee. It was one of your best—super inspired.

Monthly Motivation

I am deeply amazed and engaged by your publication. It keeps me motivated and provides invaluable information on subjects I hold dear.

Your articles consistently inform me about the beautiful geographical sites across our state and offer wonderful opportunities to learn about gardening, healthy cooking and better eating habits.

Furthermore, the magazine helps me discover ways to volunteer my time and services within my community, fostering a spirit of continuous learning.

Give a Hoot

I could not agree more with the A Rash of Trash letter and have chosen to pick up two pieces of trash when I’m out and about in hopes of setting a good example for others [TCP Talk, May 2026].

As the saying went: Give a hoot, don’t pollute.
