September is National Preparedness Month, the perfect time to talk about storm kits and other essentials you should have on hand.
Whether it’s a family member or co-worker having a medical emergency or a large-scale disaster, every second counts and just the smallest bit of preparation can save lives.
In addition to an emergency kit, the American Red Cross recommends:
- Becoming CPR certified
- Know how to administer first aid
- Have at least three days worth of drinking water on-hand per person and pets
- Take an emergency preparedness training program
- Download the Red Cross Emergency Preparedness or First Aid app
